We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Commercial Accounting Team.

Responsibilities include full charge accounting for several commercial or multi-family properties. Day to day duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and various other reports as required by ownership/management.

  • G/L account analysis and review.

  • Annual budget preparation.

  • Variance analysis.

  • Coding invoices for accounts payable and review of the A/P input.

  • Ensuring compliance with the management contracts.

  • Maintain building and review & interpret lease files.

  • Completion of CAM & RET Reconciliations.

  • Completion of YE Tax Workpapers.

  • Assist with the acquisition and disposition of assets.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with property management and company management.

  • Special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller and/or CFO.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and possess excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills, have a strong work ethic and have the ability to meet deadlines, in addition to:

  • 0 - 2years of real estate accounting experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience in Yardi or equivalent program is a plus.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Must have the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision to complete accounting duties and tasks successfully.
