Legrand NA Inventory Control Manager in Farmingdale, New York

Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Farmingdale, NY. This role is responsible for managing all inventory control operations, including inventory management, kitting, planning daily team-work flow, and directing the work of inventory and warehouse staff as well as implementing inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting.

What Will You Do?

  • Supervise department staff according to business and operational needs.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to inventory transactions, policies, objectives, and initiatives.

  • Manage cycle count efforts to identify and correct discrepancies as needed and report progress.

  • Research and document inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Employ standards, metrics, and procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency.

  • Communicate effectively with department personnel to facilitate production orders.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities and develop best inventory management practices.

  • Implement process improvements to maximize accuracy and productivity.

  • Coordinate activities associated with damaged or defective parts to ensure proper accounting and disposition.

  • Ensure all departmental employees maintain a safe working environment.

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.

  • Support all company safety regulations.

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Compensation

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000

Required Skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment is required.

  • A minimum of 1 year of management experience is required.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills are required.

  • Ability to independently plan, prioritize, organize, and handle multiple priorities is required.

  • Experience leading a team is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing is preferred.

  • Previous ERP system experience is required (SAP is preferred).

  • Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift is required.

  • Ability to hear, speak, kneel, bend, and use a step ladder or stool is required.

  • Ability to lift 45 pounds is required.

  • Ability to drive a forklift.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment is required.
