GKN Automotive Maintenance Manager in Faridabad, India

Role Purpose - Directs supervisors or maintenance teams engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems to assure cost effective, timely provision of maintenance services and safety of plant personnel, ensuring necessary legal approvals.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

Oversee an operational area with guidance from senior colleagues. Could involve responsibility for development or delivery (or both).

Site Maintenance

Manage and deliver required site maintenance services under the leadership of more senior colleagues.

Leadership and Direction

Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

Health, Safety and Environment

Monitor and review performance against Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility; Take action improve performance and to resolve non-compliance with the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions.

Business Planning

Contribute to the development of annual or short-term business plans; contribute with developing business cases for key activities/projects and with estimating the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.

Performance Management

Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.

Budgeting

Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.

Quality

Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements.

Operational Compliance

Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Internal Communications

Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.

Work Scheduling and Allocation

Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals. Involves coordinating across multiple teams.

Engineering Inspections

Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of complex, large-scale engineering works and/or the integrity of existing complex, large-scale installations or structures, and specify the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

Improvement/Innovation

Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.

Knowledge Management System

Work within established knowledge management systems to deliver pre-set outcomes for area of responsibility.
