Responsibilities SUMMARY: Reviews and investigates the compensability and details of each claim. Processes, reports and documents all workers compensation claims ensuring compliance with relevant company policies and state laws. Reports to the proper departments all the appropriate data and information necessitated. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Collects all necessary forms, records and documentation to report, process and file claims Workers' Compensation claims. Communicates and interacts with medical professionals, support agencies, management, injured parties and others to monitor and assess the progress of rehabilitation efforts, and to facilitate return to work or, depending upon medical status of claimant, placement into appropriate alternative positions within the company. Coordinates with human resources, EH&S and lead team on loss control and safety procedures, policies, and related regulations to assist the companies in creating a safer work environment that is healthy for our workforce and maximizes loss control. Creates and maintains accurate OSHA 300, 300A and related OSHA reports Reports to human resource/payroll weekly on the restricted and lost days for the individuals on workers compensation. Reports weekly to EH&S the details and OSHA recordable status of every claim. Creates monthly tracking reports as needed or requested by the lead team for tracking incident rates including the injury incident rate. Reports as needed to General Counsel and CFO on loss trends, injury trends, aggregate medical costs and financial exposure Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree Proficient in Microsoft programs; Word and Excel Proficient in answering and making telephone calls, sending fax via email, creating and editing PDF documents, creating and maintaining electronic files as well as physical files Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written) LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract 10-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. REASONING ABILITY: No major critical thinking required. Work follows established job aids and business rules. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
