Job Description
A chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Minneapolis, MN facility. The position is responsible for general maintenance tasks involving plumbing, carpentry, snow removal, electrical, light construction, and preventative maintenance/general equipment repair on specified pumps, boilers, HVAC equipment, and generators.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance in PSM/RMP/ISO/SQF regulated and certified facilities.
Maintain accurate reports and records, including documentation of systems and components.
Perform general facility and equipment repairs, including pipe fitting, pump repair, boiler/HVAC/compressors/pump operations, tank inspections, and sprinkler systems.
Provide feedback for engineers to help modify existing equipment and improve the design of future equipment.
Respond to trouble calls quickly and make repairs as needed.
Direct the work of 3rd party contractors/vendors.
Handle snow removal and salting of driveways and entryways.
Be available for on-call emergencies.
Uphold standards for quality and safety through continuous improvement activities and adherence to applicable environmental, safety, and health regulations and policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; a 2-year technical degree preferred.
5+ years of facility/manufacturing maintenance experience required.
Ability to communicate complex and/or technical operations and procedures in terms easily understood by non-technical operators.
2nd Class Boiler License preferred; at minimum, a special license is required.
Valid driver's license.
Computer skills to effectively use maintenance software, communicate through email, and research equipment/spare parts.
Ability to work weekends (when needed) and be on-call.

Work Environment
Hours are 1st Shift, typically 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, working 40-46 hours per week. May be on call and require some Saturday work for special projects. The position may also require floating to other plants in the cities for extra support if needed. The chemical distribution facility in Minneapolis, MN, follows strict safety guidelines and maintains a safe environment. The role involves working around chemicals, and candidates must be comfortable with heights as the position may require exposure to heights. The company is a formulator, manufacturer, blender, distributor, and sales agent for thousands of industrial chemicals and reagent grade laboratory chemicals sold to municipalities and businesses throughout the Central United States.

The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $72800.00/yr.
