THE POSITION Work as a Nuclear Planning and Execution System (NPES) System Administrator (SA) Lead for the Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) Information Technology Support Services (JSSC-ITSS) contract. The expert will oversee hardware and software to support Secure Messaging and ensure access to NPES applications. Responsibilities also include providing Tier I/II/III IT operations support, maintaining desktop clients, managing Microsoft Servers (such as Domain Controllers, Active Directory, WSUS, IIS), and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Servers that run NPES applications. RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing comprehensive technical support, analysis, and research to tackle complex problems related to desktops and server management within the NPES client environment. Handling administrative tasks such as setting up user accounts, maintaining system documentation, optimizing system performance, installing software, applying critical patches, managing storage space, and diagnosing and rectifying faults using appropriate tools. Collaborating with customers and contract leadership to address intricate technical issues, leading a team of technicians, and overseeing hardware and software maintenance for the NPES server baseline. Conducting capacity and performance assessments, suggesting system configuration enhancements, developing procedures, and delivering training to system administrators. Analyzing application and system diagnostics, resolving performance issues, executing software updates and maintenance tasks, and ensuring system reliability and performance within the supported environment. Responding promptly to incident management related to various technologies such as Microsoft Servers, Desktops, Oracle Secure Global Desktop, VmWare Server, and NPES applications, while also performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Employing independent judgment to devise effective methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria, identifying upgrade needs, and foreseeing customer requirements to provide expert support and analysis. Installing, monitoring, and migrating operating systems and associated software, gathering functional requirements from customers, and coordinating with development teams for systematic enhancements. Monitoring performance, supporting cybersecurity efforts, managing system backups and restores, ensuring data availability and survivability, and proactively monitoring storage capacity. Enhancing the customer's operating environment through expert support while maintaining cybersecurity standards for managed systems and hardware. Upholding compliance with safety and security protocols, worksite access procedures, training requirements, certifications, and other assigned duties and projects. Minimum Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility;  AND, High school diploma or equivalent; AND, Active CompTIA Security+ CE Certificat on; AND, 10+ years of technical experience, providing system and application administration support to include administrating Microsoft Windows Servers, MS Windows desktops, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and VmWare ESXi Equal opportunity employer, including disability/vets.
