We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, with 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. The role requires proficiency in MagicDraw, SysML, or Cameo, and Agile experience is preferred. This position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable period of time. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop, deploy, and maintain advanced submarine systems in support of the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Navy fleets.
Work as part of an agile cross-functional team.
Independently execute Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify program requirements and support analysis of system design using Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
Draft system requirements in accordance with good requirement practices.
Conduct research on technical implementation and challenges to develop solutions and designs for complex assignments.
Train regular systems engineers to use MagicDraw.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
Proficiency in MagicDraw, SysML, or Cameo.
Experience with Agile programs and methodologies.
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and the engineering process.
Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to recognize and report information relevant to sound systems engineering design.
Experience prioritizing competing requirements and tasks while working independently and as part of a team.
Shows initiative on assignments and exercises independent judgment.
Work Environment
The position is based on-site in Manassas, with the possibility of hybrid flexibility after an initial period. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, providing an opportunity for a balanced work-life integration.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr.
