TerraPower Natrium Test Engineer in Everett, Washington

Test Engineer The Test and Engineering Discipline within TerraPower, LLC. Is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer on a full-time basis. In this role, you will perform testing activities to support the Natrium demonstration reactor, including responsibility for documenting test procedures and reports, as well as participate in test activities, process and parse test data, and contribute to project tracking and management. This effort will support the Natrium program, and integrated energy system data will be used to support licensing of a demonstration reactor. Your role will include interfacing with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians both internal and external to TerraPower. You will work with Natrium engineers to develop test procedures for high-temperature flowing loop experiments, and act as a support operator for those experiments. Additionally, you will provide technical support processing and visualizing experimental data for senior engineers. Candidates should have extensive experience in all aspects of hands-on laboratory experimentation including writing procedures and reports, data processing with open-source software packages, and safe operation of specialized equipment. Responsibilities: Support senior engineers in creating test documentation, procedures, and reports Contribute data processing and analysis to test report and documentation Provide data processing support of experimental data Able to follow complex sets of directions provided by the lead engineers regarding the operation of the IES loops Run hardware and software verification and validation procedures on pilot-scale systems Able to familiarize self with operation of flowing loop systems from existing procedures and P&IDs Able to troubleshoot and improve existing LabView software architecture Experience using analog and digital sensors common in industrial systems Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities Integrate test results with work of other engineers in support of the Natrium demonstration plant Partner effectively with internal partners such as Procurement, Central Engineering, and other resources to meet project objectives.
