Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety SpecialistJob Description

The EHS Specialist will support, develop, communicate, train, drive, manage, audit, improve, and measure EHS performance. This role includes developing and enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes, driving understanding and engagement to provide EHS performance improvement. The specialist will influence business units' leadership and further integrate EHS into daily operations. This position is accountable for supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs, tools, and standards in line with global EHS policies. Responsibilities include training and communication to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards as well as business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational disease and industrial health hazards.

  • Promote EHS awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications and participation.

  • Serve as the key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.

  • Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.

  • Conduct compliance tasks including stormwater sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.

  • Support and conduct EHS audits, develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures promptly and effectively.

  • Perform risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) for new processes and equipment.

  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate reporting systems.

  • Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.

  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures for ergonomics.

  • Establish and manage the safety committee.

  • Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risk.

  • Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field, or relevant experience.

  • 1+ years’ experience in EHS support, especially in warehousing.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.

  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.

  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • EHS, Health & Safety, Environmental Health experience.

  • Manufacturing plant experience; not construction.

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations.

  • Risk assessment skills.

Work Environment

The role is based at the Everett site with two shift options: Back End (Wednesday - Saturday, 2nd Shift) and Front End (Sunday - Wednesday, 2nd Shift). Shift hours are from 2pm to 12:30am. Candidates must be willing to work any shift based on availability and be available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends. Please specify shift and location preference on submissions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
