Contracts Purchasing Specialist I/II
This is a Time Limited position for up to 2 years (24 months)
$81,432 to $114,018 Annually Job #16260
We are recruiting for either a level 1 or level 2 Contracts/Purchasing Specialist. The successful candidate(s) will be placed at the appropriate level depending on skills, abilities, and qualifications.
Basic Responsibilities
Performs timely and accurate contracting and procurement activities by assisting with document preparation, correspondence and reporting. Issues purchase orders and executes contracts within established thresholds. Communicates with internal and external customers. Monitors compliance with relevant laws and policies and resolves issues.
Ideal candidates will have experience administering construction contracts. Experience in public works contracting, either at a public agency or with a construction contractor, is highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
Contracts and Purchasing Agent I $39.15 to $48.94 Hourly
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, related field
OR
Four (4) years of office clerical experience,
Contracts and Purchasing Agent II $91,215 to $114,018 Annually
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, or related field, AND
- Two (2) years of progressively more responsible contracts or purchasing experience;
OR
- Four (4) years of office clerical experience, AND
- Two (2) years of progressively more responsible contracts or purchasing experience;
OR
- Six (6) years of progressively more responsible contracts or purchasing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification from recognized procurement or contract management organization such as NIGP, UPPC, ISM, and/or NCMA.
