Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team in the aerospace industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring quality materials, components, and services to support manufacturing and operational objectives in accordance with industry standards. This role requires strong negotiation, supply chain management, and organizational skills to develop strategic relationships with vendors while ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and delivery deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Sourcing:
Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to procure materials that meet engineering and operational specifications.
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulations during decision-making (Source: Job Search Guide US eBook.pdf).
Supplier Management:
Evaluate supplier performance, identify risks, and establish long-term vendor relationships for key aerospace components.
Conduct regular audits and ensure the suppliers align with quality and delivery expectations.
Cost Management:
Manage procurement budgets and minimize costs while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
Develop strategies for cost savings through supplier agreements, volume purchasing, and vendor partnerships.
Contract Negotiation:
Draft and negotiate purchase orders, contracts, and agreements. Clarify terms and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory compliance standards.
Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply chain activities to meet production deadlines.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to maintain seamless material flow.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier information.
Analyze purchasing data and provide insights to improve procurement processes.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in the aerospace or related manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of supplier management, contract negotiation, and industry-standard procurement practices
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
Understanding of aerospace industry quality standards and government regulations
Preferred Competencies:
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Certification in supply chain management or procurement
