The GE Aerospace’s Military Contracts team is a critical team member, and a trusted and proactive business partner to the product lines within the business. Contracts is the face of GE to our US Government acquisition and airframer procurement customers. We are charged with cradle to grave contract management duties in all phases of a Program, from proposal strategy through the full development, production, and sustainment life cycle. The contracts team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price, and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope management. As an enabler to the business Contracts collaborates across multiple functions and is laser focused on achieving a business deal ensuring both GE and the customers’ expectations are met.

The Senior Contract Manager has the responsibility to manage assigned contracts, and offer contracting solutions to meet the assigned goals of the department and business. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope in certain areas and will rely heavily on your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, with the ability to affect and effect short and long-term business goals.

Directly supporting US Government contract activity (either on a Prime or subcontract), this position requires solid proficiency in managing various contract types (including complex development) in both the Firm Fixed Price Contracts and the Cost Reimbursement Groups, as described in the Federal Acquisition Regulations and the DoD FAR Supplement.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities cover the entire contracting lifecycle, from receipt of solicitation through contract close-out

  • Works closely with leadership to shape business and contracting strategy, and ensure flawless execution in the formation, administration, and closeout of contracts

  • Works closely with and educates the internal customer about contract requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and collaborates with legal counsel

  • Remain steadfast in supporting compliance programs without compromise

  • Guides through assessing solicitations identifying business and compliance risks

  • Support proposal development through creating winning strategies

  • Provide negotiation strategies and guidance to team members as they prepare for discussions with DoD, higher-tier contractors, or other agencies

  • Communicates contracts requirements and rights as well as company policies and procedures to internal customer

  • Embraces Lean, digital tools, and rigorous contracting practices to drive continuous improvement and employee and customer satisfaction

  • Must have the confidence and the ability to work on your own, utilizing your skills to execute business objectives, supporting both internal and external customers

  • Ability to travel periodically

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • At least seven (7) years of experience in government, commercial, or international contract formation and execution

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

  • Solid domain expertise with commercial terms and conditions, Federal Acquisition Regulations, with emphasis in Parts 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and DoD FAR Supplement

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
