GE Aerospace Lead Security Specialist in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Lead Security Specialist will help integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization in regard to personnel security (PERSEC) tasks and contract security requirements. The role of Lead Security Specialist aides in the development, implementation, and maintenance of personnel security procedures as required by 32 CFR Part 117 "National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual Rule (NISPOM Rule)" and the Department of Defense (DoD).

Job Description

  • Guarantee compliance with all government regulatory requirements across the contracting and program life cycle, with particular emphasis on the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).

  • Develop and maintain key industry partnerships to garner best practices and influence emerging procedures and policies.

  • Expert working knowledge of DISS, e-APP, NBIS, SWFT, and NISS.

  • Execute personnel security actions with little to no supervision for employees across multiple entities; ownership and proper execution of assigned functional tasks.

  • Develop and implement personnel security (PERSEC) policy and procedures, and security education across the business.

  • Ability to develop and implement internal function auditing systems, utilization of lean principles.

  • Review and maintain DD254's (prime and sub), work with program management to issue sub DD254 to suppliers and/or vendors as required.

  • Closely interact with program management, internal contracting team, and broader security team.

  • Provide a safe and secure workplace for the employees, contractors, visitors, and suppliers.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years industrial security experience) + a minimum of 3 years industrial security experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the National Industrial Security Program, government compliance, or Department of Defense setting.

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance

  • Working knowledge of DISS, NBIS, SWFT

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to assess process and procedures to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Established project management skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
