We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Atlas Logistics Team as a Freight Broker! The Freight Brokeris responsible for handling the day-to-day operations within Atlas Logistics that are moderately complex. Scheduling and tracking shipments, keeping all systems updated, carrier development, negotiating with freight carriers and handling customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finds coverage for booked Atlas Logistics TL shipments with a focus on transportation buy rate and profitability. Keeps taps on market trends and rates. Knowledge of different levels of freight and pricing is a must.
  • Keep systems updated with correct and current data: TMW, Atlas Net, etc.
  • Locate and sign-up new carriers and brokers who may provide a competitive edge to Atlas Logistics.
  • Track and trace current shipments and keep customers up to date with any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Works closely with STG to help find backhauls for the Atlas Fleet to help reduce their deadhead, reposition equipment and bring in additional revenue to Atlas Logistics.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Management, or related field.
  • 0-4 years' job-related experience and/or a combination of both education and experience are required.
  • Excellent reasoning ability
  • Effective problem-solving, organizational, analytical, oral and communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agents, and other outside organizations.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
