Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Crane Builder/Crane Assembler to join our team. You will be responsible for assembling structural forms such as crane components, cranes, jib cranes, and structures. This role involves performing electrical assembly and wiring for overhead cranes, testing cranes, and repairing hoists. You will wire new cranes during the fabrication process, assemble 3-phase and single-phase electric hoists, and pneumatic hoists according to configuration requirements. Your expertise will also be needed to assemble and wire control boxes, wire PLCs, and troubleshoot them. You will assemble and test electric and pneumatic chain hoists, electric wire rope hoists, and push/geared/motorized trolleys per customer’s specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test crane system electrical components including bridge control boxes, crane wiring, end truck motors, and assemblies.

  • Assemble equipment including gates and components per blueprints/job specifications within quality standards and allotted routing time.

  • Operate various handheld pneumatic and electric power tools and other machinery including drills, drivers, riveters, impact wrenches, nut runners, saws, and grinders.

  • Determine proper material layout including hydraulic hosing, air hosing, and electrical wiring and junction boxes per blueprints/job specifications.

  • Drill, tap, and fit-up materials/components/products per blueprints/job specifications.

  • Inspect and operate finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and quality requirements; complete product inspection list.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Understand wiring to PLC and troubleshooting process.

  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

  • Ability to run conduit.

  • Experience working with 460/480V power, crane service, electrical, PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics.

Work Environment

You will work in a large-scale manufacturing environment focused on producing large jib cranes. The facility is spread across multiple buildings, and you will be part of a smaller team of about 60-70 employees in the Eureka facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eureka, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
