Lane County Administration's Operations & Financial Services Team is HIRING a Senior Accounting Clerk for Accounts Payable!

About the Position

Under the general direction of the Procurement Manager, this position is responsible for expedient and accurate processing of Accounts Payable and accomplishing tasks for Payroll within County Administration, Operation. This work includes performing payment audits, processing of department voucher entry, issuing checks and processing positive pay, completing record retention activities. It will also support the implementation of ACH batch payments, voucher and vendor builds, as well as creating/updating documentation for cross-training purposes and process improvements.

This position will function as a liaison for outside departments, providing guidance and insight to software capabilities, often correcting voucher entry errors, sharing policy and procedures, and reconciling payments. We are looking for someone with technical aptitude, who is well organized, has great customer service skills and is often sought out for advice or guidance.

About the Division

As part of the County Administration Department, the 16 FTE in the Financial Services Division perform functions related to accounting, financial reporting, investment of funds, cash management, debt management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and procurement. Financial Services is responsible for maintaining and reporting all financial transactions on an accurate and timely basis and preparing financial statements following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Financial Services maintains effective accounting systems to control and report the receipt and disbursement of County and taxing districts funds and is responsible for receiving and recording all County expenditures and revenue obligations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS

Training

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; supplemented by specialized training in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or a related field.

Experience

  • Three years of responsible financial, accounting or statistical record keeping.

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
