TEKsystems Cable Technician in Etna, Ohio
TEKsystems is hiring 10+ Cable Technicians / Installers for a major data center project in the metro Columbus area.

Our client is seeking entry-level/ mid-level cable technicians to join their team and help build the future of data infrastructure. As a Cable Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing cable and fiber in state-of-the-art data centers. Key Responsibilities:
Assist higher-level technicians and team leads in building out data center infrastructure.
Pull cable and fiber, learn color codes, and master the art of punching down and terminating fiber.
Install cable trays, pathways, and server racks.
Install cabinets, cable trays, ladder racks, fiber runners, containment, and trunks.
Decommission network and cabling infrastructure as needed.
Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions with a focus on continuous improvement.
Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure data center cleanliness.
Follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
Develop a broad understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in mechanical, data center, or cabling (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.).
Strong work ethic and physical stamina for tasks such as climbing ladders and assembling server cabinets.
Data center or construction site experience.
Knowledge and use of basic telecom and hand tools.
Familiarity with wiring schemes and testing.
Ability to pull all types of low voltage cable.
Proficiency in field terminations and labeling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Punctual and a team player, flexible with hours and open to mandatory overtime.
Strong work ethic and eagerness to grow in the trade.
️ Required Safety Gear/Tools:
Safety boots with composite or steel toes.
Hard hat, safety glasses, vest, and gloves.
Hand tools including socket sets, adjustable wrenches, channel locks, needle nose pliers, screwdrivers (flat and Phillips head), telecom snips and knives with belt holster, universal wire stripping tool, cordless electrical drill with drill bits, box cutter, electrical tape, level, and punch tool.
️ Work Environment:
Fast-paced, physical position in a data center.
Requires lifting up to 50 pounds and comfort with heights and ladders.
Compliance Requirements:
Background check required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
