Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Special Investigator 1 - Presque Isle Downs Racetrack in Erie, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4453742 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission is looking for a committed professional with a background in criminal investigations to fill the role of Special Investigator 1 at Presque Isle Downs Racetrack. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Special Investigator 1, you will conduct inquiries into illegal activities and violations of Pennsylvania racing rules, administrative regulations, drug and alcohol misuse, and equine post-race samples. You will compile investigative data, provide testimony, act as a prosecutor in Stewards hearings, interview applicants with legal issues, conduct drug and alcohol tests, and gather evidence during investigations. Your duties will include searching racing facility areas, obtaining authorization for confidential information release, overseeing sample collection, fingerprinting, photographing applicants, verifying licensee eligibility, and researching criminal histories to ensure compliance with racing regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Temporary Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in criminal investigation work and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Post Employment Requirement: A Commission Employee License is required for this position or will be obtained once hired. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
