SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The receptionist provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, flow of correspondence, as well as additional clerical duties.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Answers telephone and directs the caller to the appropriate associate. Will transfer a customer to an associate's voice mailbox when the associate is unavailable.
  • Greets and directs customers to the company.
  • Will take and retrieve messages for various personnel.
  • Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents
  • Monitors mortgage, home equity and book loan payments to ensure proper credit to the accounts.
  • Administers payment for invoices after approval is received. 
  • Serves as verification of customer accounts for outside requestors.
  • Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, and other related information.
  • Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail. Maintains and routes publications.
  • Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
  • Assists with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties 
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing the Bank in the community and making appropriate referrals regarding new business
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary 

     

Marginal Functions:

  • May help customers with questions on their account after proper identification

     

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Education And/Or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1-year customer service experience. Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication skills. Able to work with minimum supervision. Should be friendly, welcoming and customer service driven. Broad knowledge of the bank's products and services is required. 

Compliance Knowledge:

Ability to demonstrate general knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act/USA Patriot Act, Privacy laws and regulations, as well as any applicable consumer protection laws and regulations.

General knowledge of information security is required. This includes understanding the importance of safekeeping confidential customer information, understanding and acknowledgement of Bank policies in relation to information security, and maintaining safety in the Bank's network.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees of organization. Proficient computer skills.

 

Equipment/Tools Skills:

The employee must have the ability to use standard office equipment. 

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to issue and carry out both detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required sit; and to use hands to finger, handle, or touch. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and talk or hear. 

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is consistently moderate.

The employee will occasionally be exposed to electrical shock. 

Employee in this position will be required to work in indoor environment and come in direct contact with staff and customers.
