Job Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be part of a highly collaborative team with a mix of Income Tax, Sales & Use, and Property Tax professionals who take pride in their contributions to the Company’s success. This Staff Accountant I will be performing a wide array of tax reporting reconciliations and analyses to ensure tax payments are sent to appropriate tax jurisdictions, and providing assistance with special tax-related projects, performing critical monthly tasks, which may include, but will not be limited to, preparing month end close journal entries, preparing and validating data from billing and tax systems, and ensuring appropriate indirect tax documentation and controls are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly tax reporting reconciliations and validation, month-end close tasks, and internal indirect tax-related SOX controls and/or documentation

  • Responsible for all payment accounts related to Sales Tax reconciliations, indirect payment inquiries, and document requests

  • Help maintain a database of retailer tax exemptions/resale certificates

  • Prepare EFT Sales Tax payments

  • Reconcile tax payments to a bank account

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including support of special projects related to indirect tax

  • Continually review processes for efficiency

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • BS Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration from an accredited university; the ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience in account reconciliations

  • Knowledge of Sales and Use tax, Telecommunications tax, business licenses/gross receipts tax, and related reporting to tax authorities

  • Experience with Alteryx, Cash Pro, and Orbit Analytics a plus

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Capability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure, dynamic environment

  • Must be a self-starter with an upbeat positive attitude

  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data is a must, along with excellent MS Excel and written and verbal communication skills

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
