About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a M&A Associate to join the team in Paris and work in close coordination with industry / M&A teams in London and the US.
The Associate will work in a sector-agnostic team with a focus on large cross-border transactions between Europe and the US.
The team is looking to grow over the next years to cater for the increasing flow of cross-border transactions
The role involves performing the tasks of an Associate in an M&A team. These include, but are not limited to, working on client coverage materials, transaction origination and execution of M&A mandates.
In this role, you will:
Perform the tasks of an M&A Associate in an M&A team. Working as part of a team consisting of Analysts, Vice Presidents, Directors and Managing Directors.
Create detailed analysis and financial models used for valuation purposes.
Prepare marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda, management presentations, fairness opinions and board presentations.
Prepare various industry analysis, including market trends, key growth drivers and industry dynamics.
Conduct extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction.
Manage several projects at once and working effectively as an individual while supervising analysts and interns.
Support senior bankers in their relationship management responsibilities, including interaction with current and prospective clients.
Perform key steps in a transaction execution process from origination to completion.
Build relationships and maintaining direct contact with current and prospective clients.
Manage, develop and mentor analysts and participate in the recruitment efforts.
Work in a spirit of transparency and teamwork at the ethical standard that is required.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent qualification required from a top tier school.
Minimum three years investment banking experience at a major international investment bank or three years transaction services experience at a Big Four.
Experience working on sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions for Corporate clients and Private Equity.
Proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and financial database (FactSet, Mergermarket and Refinitiv).
Strong quantitative/analytical skills with mastery of accounting and valuation.
Demonstrated excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team; ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders in a time-constrained environment
Strong personal motivation, strong interest in a career in financial services
Exceptional attention to detail
Organisational skills proven ability to effectively manage multiple assignments.
Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused, collaborative, and team environment.
Team player that behaves ethically and with integrity.
Fluency in both French and English. German or Italian speaking skills a plus.
Experience in Investment Banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Job Expectations:
You must have the relevant AMF certification and must at all times remain fit and proper to perform your role, and this will be assessed on at least an annual basis.
