What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Dispatcher is responsible for answering incoming calls from members inquiring about their scheduled transportation. The Dispatcher will analyze trips, ensure a driver is available and provide an estimated arrival time.
This position is 100% onsite
What Youll Do:
- Work closely with Lead Dispatchers to provide trip updates and estimated time of arrival
- Assist with Driver Assignments
- Maintain effective communication with members and Dispatch
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing member inquiries and concerns
- Keep members informed about the status of their driver and verify all information before disconnecting
- Ensure that all transportation operations comply with procedure and eligibility
- Collaborate with Dispatch/Supervisor if passengers experiencing issues or have grievances
- Establish and maintain effective communication with transportation providers
- Provide feedback to leadership and Management on transportation providers performance
- Practice and follow all compliance guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
What Youll need:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Even better if you have...
- 2+ years in transportation routing, dispatching, and scheduling expertise, preferred
- 1 year experience working with the applicable transit scheduling system, preferred
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, including weather-related disruptions, unexpected delays, or unforeseen issues
- Seek opportunities to enhance transportation processes, streamline operations, and improve efficiency
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, drivers, and vendors
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of GPS and GIS systems preferred
- Good organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner
- Skilled in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications
- Must be able to demonstrate effective use of scheduling software, communication and data analysis skills
