Navistar, Inc. Quality Technician in Elmendorf, Texas
Position Overview
Navistar's Research & Development Team has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Technician at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, Texas. The Quality Technician will report to the site Quality Engineering Lead and perform Quality Activities in support to vehicle builds and validation activities of Navistar products, which include heavy trucks and school buses.
The Navistar Elmendorf Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a Research and Development Facility as well as a support center for the San Antonio Manufacturing Plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. The build operations department supports the R&D departments in the day-to-day operations and ensures that testing is not interrupted due to equipment failure or delays.
Responsibilities
Inspection and measurement of Manufactured parts
ISO implementation through Internal Audits and Layered Process Audits
Support in PPAP documentation reports
Provide leadership to team with a clear picture, information, and status summary reports
Responsible for providing detailed analysis of quality data (i.e., measurement reports, verification analyses)
Support in resolution of quality problems through appropriate process design strategies, as well as error detection and correction tests and procedures
Participate in continuous improvement projects /activities
Collaborates to prepare and review data and/or reports required for the quality lead
Perform Calibration and/or Management of Calibrated Tools
Work from schematics, diagrams, drawings, written and verbal descriptions
Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing of test equipment
General labor around facility & other tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s degree
At least 1 year of quality inspection experience
OR
- At least 2 years of quality inspection experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Measurement equipment and inspection knowledge
Root Cause analysis
Trouble shooting and diagnostics proficiency
(AIAG) PPAP documentation procedures
GD&T intermediate level or higher
Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, diagrams, and instructions
Experience with Manufacturing of metal shop parts and wire harness assembly
Career experience in the heavy truck/automotive manufacturing industry
Intermediate MS Office knowledge (Power Point and Excel preferred)
Available and willing to work 2nd shift if needed
