CCA Energy Services Technician in Ellicottville, New York

Job Summary:To perform the duties of Energy Services Technician in order to facilitate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Energy Divisions.Education & Experience:•High School Diploma or equivalent preferred•Technical training in building construction trades or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in building construction / retrofit industry preferred•Familiarity with building codes and other related regulations preferredOther Requirements & Skills:• Must have valid driver’s license, insurability, and reliable transportation.• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability and motivation to work independently and without direct supervision as well as in a team and with the community.• Must have general carpentry skills, including rough carpentry and finished carpentry.• Good basic mathematical skills.• Versatility and flexibility to assist the Weatherization Team in other Weatherization work as required.• Openness to learning new skills and technology as necessary; must participate in training as required.• Must possess or complete BPI Shell Specialist CertificationPrimary Responsibilities:• Responsible for reduction of air-flow as measured by periodic blower door test, to achieve each job’s air infiltration reduction goals.• Responsible for finding all points of air infiltration, and air sealing measures including, but not limited to: duct sealing, pipe chases, attic and basement bypasses, etc.• Responsible for detection and correction of indoor air quality, health and safety concerns, performance of pressure diagnostics, and the repair of venting and gas leaks as necessary.• Installation of doors, windows, glass, roof vents, CO detectors, and other interventions as necessary.• Perform all work in a safe manner, including lead safe work practices, asbestos safe work practices and all required paperwork on a daily basis.• Perform work in all areas of a house as required, including attics, basements, roofs, crawl spaces, etc.• Responsible for insulation including: sidewall, floor, and attics as required by funding sources, including operation of blowing machine and use of fiberglass and cellulose insulation.• When using agency vehicle, mileage and maintenance must be logged with oil and other fluids be checked at every fill-up.• Assist the Energy Divisions’ Team in general energy division work as necessary.• Responsible for daily inventory records and the maintenance of all tools and equipment.• Comply with all funding source regulations, for creating a safe environment, and to report any unsafe situations to the immediate supervisor• Responsible for health and safety tests at every job and correcting all mandatory health and safety problems on site• Familiar with operation of all agency equipment as required, including, but not limited to the blower door.• Must be enthusiastic about promoting the mission of CCA, be willing to work towards the good of the entire agency, and to act as an ambassador of CCA throughout the community.• Other duties as assignedThe above statements reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.Physical RequirementsThe following lists physical demands an employee will perform on a regular basis: Standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs. Minimum Salary: 17.50 Maximum Salary: 20.00 Salary Unit: Hourly
