Our client, a leading steel processing plant in Elk Grove Village, IL, is seeking a dynamic Purchasing Manager to join their team. Founded in 2014, our client has established itself as a key player in the industrial sector, with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and long-term growth.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the purchasing of raw materials, components, MRO items, and outside services for one or more manufacturing facilities.
Collaborate with plant personnel to understand production schedules, material requirements, and resolve any material issues to ensure timely delivery.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers; coordinate supplier visits and audits to ensure compliance and quality.
Negotiate contract terms to optimize cost, delivery, and payment terms while meeting company needs.
Develop and implement internal controls and processes to streamline purchasing operations.
Analyze market trends and purchasing patterns to make informed decisions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as implementing Kanban systems to enhance material movement efficiency and inventory cost-effectiveness.
Establish and maintain a supplier scorecard process to monitor performance in quality, delivery, and cost.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
5-7 years of experience in procurement, with previous supervisory experience.
Prior experience in the steel industry is preferred.
Strong adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Previous experience with MIS software is advantageous.

Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
