Within BR&T’s Mission System Technologies (MST) organization, Boeing’s Advanced Computing Technology (ACT) team performs innovation, development and maturation of Advanced Computing and its associated subordinate technologies.
Boeing Research and Technology is looking for a Systems Engineering Lead - Facilities Project Management (Senior or Principal) based in El Segundo, CA or Huntington Beach, CA. This Facilities Project Manager will lead a multi-disciplined team from conceptual design, requirements development, architecture definition, and interface definition to support the development and operations of a multi-element integration facility, supporting future DC&N systems.
The selected candidate will lead the following efforts related to manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, thermal, network, information assurance, and security: project planning and estimates, project implementation, monitoring cost, schedules, and performance, interfacing with customers, identifying potential risks, obtaining appropriate facility certifications, and supporting operations.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead facilities development efforts for one or more facilities project management activities throughout the life of a project, including operations.
Lead team members and engage in sensitive and high-visibility activities to achieve project objectives and customer requirements.
Partner with researchers and technology experts in understanding technology development current state and future goals in order to inform test, verification and validation efforts
Identify, coordinate and communicate requirements, functional threads and interfaces for incorporation into system architectures, modeling environments and system designs.
Oversee development of systems and integration activities. Integrate technologies under development with system concept of operations and determine impacts to interfaces, integration techniques, and integrated system testing.
Identify, innovate and oversee development and maintenance of new tools and processes to support this work scope
Manage performance budgets (e.g., space, power, data throughput, etc.) and associated planningto validate those budgets in support of experiments and test activities.
Support and lead customer engagement for technologies under research & development
Define functional architecture and coordinate efforts with various teams to meet end item deliverable test, verification & validation dates
Support formal reviews and lab test & validation activities
Work on world class, next generation disruptive technologies across the enterprise and at business partners and teammate facilities to develop, document, analyze, and test operational, functional, and environmental requirements of non-recurring development research systems.
Provide high impact, creative and innovative solutions to complex technical problems
Work as part of a dynamic team environment alongside world-class research scientists and engineers, including customer entities
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience in facilities design, architecture, development, and operations
Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel at all organization levels including suppliers and customers
Experience as a Project Manager responsible for ensuring system and product integration across multiple disciplines
Demonstrated leadership for driving risk and issue mitigation and resolution
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in working in an agile model based system engineering environment
Education/experience in 1 or more of the following: Cameo, DOORS, SysML, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
Adjudicated Counter Intelligence scope polygraph completed within the last 5 years

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Senior: $157,250 – $212,750
Summary pay range for Principal: $186,150 – $251,850
