What You Will Do:

Principal System Administrators, internally known as Principal Specialists, Infrastructure Workplace Services, are seasoned professional contributors that collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems. This role will require the individual to be based in El Segundo, CA to provide onsite support 5 days per week. This is an on-site position, with relocation to the El Segundo, CA area available if the selected applicant meets company policy criteria.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows Client / Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client / Server environment.

  • Domain administration in a Windows Client / Server environment, Windows 10 and 11 Client support with program support and engineering staff to include problem troubleshooting & software installation.

  • Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies, work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years experience or 9 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date, with the ability to secure a Top Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

  • Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 15% travel.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Windows 10 Desktops installation, configuration, and maintenance, Windows Server 2016 & 2019 installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Experience wtih Red Hat Linux 7 & 8 installation, configuration, and maintenance, VMWare ESXi, and with operating system and software patching.

  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods, Imaging Windows desktop systems and with hardware firmware patching to clients and enterprise servers .

  • Experience with security applications such as Ivanti, Splunk and Tenable Scanner, using SCC/SCAP and STIG Checker / Checklists, NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMFand NetApp configuration and maintenance

  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification.

‒ Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
