Graphic Designer & Animator (Secret or TS clearance)

KBR is seeking a Graphic Designer & Animator to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This position requires support to senior leadership and programs at Space Systems Command in the Missile Warning mission area. We are seeking a highly skilled graphic designer who is passionate about space, technology, and communication.

In addition to being highly proficient in the graphic design field, our ideal candidate is creative, organized, highly collaborative, able to influence peers, and interacts comfortably with senior leadership across the government and private industry. An individual who can also comfortably handle multiple projects simultaneously is also strongly desired.

Description/Responsibilities:

  • P rovide graphic design and animation expertise in support of communication products for SSC programs

  • Develop and deliver high-impact, elegant and sophisticated graphics, animation, infographics, to strengthen support and enable mission success

  • Translate technical information and apply critical thinking into graphic designs, animations, and videos

  • Develop Logo Designs, Brand Guidelines, Typography and Commercial graphics

  • Provide graphic design and animation support for briefings, presentations, and videos

  • Coordinate the design and production of communication products and deliverables

    Required Qualifications:

  • Must have expert knowledge of Adobe to include but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe in Design, Microsoft PowerPoint / Office, and other graphic arts related equipment/software (list of software proficiency below)

  • Must have expert knowledge of a broad range of technical and creative methods and practices to extend and modify existing techniques and develop new approaches for the analysis of problems relating to the design, development, and production of visual materials to effectively communicate the story of SSC programs.

  • Strong ability to translate highly technical content into thoughtful, compelling, and effective graphic design products

  • Strong ability to apply strategic thinking, attention to detail and situational awareness towards communication products and deliverables

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to prepare documentation and instructions on how to conduct design projects; interpret information; present visual synopsis of data

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of visual design

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work closely with teammates and customers across internal and external organizations.

  • Strong ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources to inform graphic design products

  • Collaborating with technical teams to understand technical information and ensure it is graphically communicated in a clear, understandable and digestible manner

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

  • Goal-oriented, strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute tactics

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in graphic design or fine arts

  • Previous experience in space and or technology sector

  • Providing portfolio / work samples for review

  • Other audiovisual and writing skills are also desirable

  • Knowledge of the space industry

Security Clearance Requirements: Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI desired)

Basic Compensation:

  • $90,000- 150,000k

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
