Eaton Corporation Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Analyst in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Analyst. The EHS Analyst provides environmental, health, safety and security support to the El Paso site. This position is accountable for supporting EHS activities at site including: monitoring EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates. This position is also responsible to maintain site ISO/OSHAS certification along with supporting the creation of strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $63749.97 - $93499.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site.

  • Champion and lead projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s).

  • Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health and utilize the MESH tools to drive improvements.

  • Support the function in EHS data analysis, data management, reporting and training while providing technical expertise to the organization.

  • Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.

  • Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.

  • Act as the Environmental Health & Safety Management Representative for all 3rd party certifications and manage the internal audit programs. Support Corporate Compliance Audit Program, including assisting locations to close audit findings, assesses appropriateness of corrective and preventive actions, etc.

  • Review site environmental permits and ensure terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensure required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency (e.g., air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits).

  • Champion the MESH MOC process, this will include mentoring employees who perform a variety of engineering work in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land and water.

  • Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes.

  • Actively investigate all accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and ensures corrective actions are implemented. Will be the lead person for 8D on all recordable accidents.

  • Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Environmental, Health or Safety in a manufacturing environment or a combination of those functions.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), or Environmental Health and Safety from an accredited institution

  • Understanding knowledge of ISO 14001 and OSHA regulations

  • Lean fundamental understanding
