International Institute of Los Angeles Community Navigator in El Monte, California

[Under the supervision of the Director of Supportive Services, the Community Navigator will be responsible for supporting and strengthening the efforts of community organizations dedicated to accelerate economic and social recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on highly impacted communities within the Service Planning Area 3 in Los Angeles County. The primary objective is to engage and support organizations, small business owners, individuals, and their families in accessing ARP-funded resources and other County services necessary for their recovery.

  • Organize and conduct outreach to Community Based Organizations, Small Business owners, Low-income individuals, and families, within Service Planning Area 3 in Los Angeles County.
  • Regularly gather feedback from clients, organizations, and business owners to assess programming needs and responsiveness.
  • Interface with community partners and represent IILA among the public.
  • Collect data and maintain all records according to agency guidelines.
  • Adhere to all guidelines and regulations related to the program.
  • Attend all meetings, community events, orientations and training as required by the Director of Supportive Services.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Supportive Services.
  • Develop a plan for outreach that includes clearly defined and appropriate referrals and access to ARP-funded resources and other County services.
  • Participate in at least 20 in person outreach events per month which target low-income individuals and families.
  • Participate in at least 5 in person outreach events per month which target small businesses and nonprofit organizations.
  • Educate and inform at least 300 individuals per month about ARP programs, resources, and services.
  • Enroll at least 200 low-income individuals per month in ARP programs and services.
  • Educate and inform at least 25 small businesses owners and nonprofits per month about ARP programs and services for which they are eligible to apply.
  • Provide technical assistance to at least 100 small businesses and nonprofits to apply for ARP program-funding and services.
  • Provide capacity building training to at least 100 nonprofits and CBOs so that they can enroll their low-income clients in ARP programs and services.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
