Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Maintenance Trainer or Principal Maintenance Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in at Edwards Air Force Base, CA
You will be responsible for managing training systems, conducting classroom and self-paced learning, and providing practical instruction in support of safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft, aircraft systems, ground equipment, tools, test equipment, stores and facilities, according to established procedures. You will also be responsible for analyzing current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs.
Responsibilities:
Writes, edits, and sustains materials for technical instruction.
Provides assistance and support to all divisions in determining their training needs, and developing and conducting their maintenance training programs.
Establishes and directs the maintenance of program wide training and qualification record system.
Maintains currency in technical developments, technical training, audiovisual techniques, and should be proficient in teaching methodologies.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills are required
Read and interpret technical manuals, utilize subject matter experts, team members, and established processes to create and sustain training materials under minimal supervision.
This requisition can be filled either the Trainer or Principal Trainer Level, based on the requirements below:
Basic Qualifications:
Maintenance Trainer – Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience in military or civilian maintenance training OR a Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of relevant military / professional experience in military or civilian maintenance training OR a Master's Degree and at least some relevant military / professional experience in military or civilian maintenance training.
Principal Maintenance Trainer – Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 9 years of relevant military / professional experience in military or civilian maintenance training OR a Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience in military or civilian maintenance training OR a Master's Degree and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience in military or civilian maintenance training.
Basic Qualifications at either level:
Must have experience in training content delivery and instructor methodologies.
Must have experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, or other related software suites.
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include alternate/second shifts, extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Must meet medical requirements for worldwide travel. Additionally, must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport, willing to complete required travel training, and accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 90 days away from primary work location.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) within a reasonable time as determined by the company
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
Low Observable Aircraft Maintenance and Training Experience
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Formal Military Instructor Certification/Degree
Degree in the field of Education
Experience in courseware development
Experience with Adobe Captivate
Salary Range: $67,100.00 - $100,700.00Salary Range 2: $82,900.00 - $124,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
