Marketing Lead

The Marketing Lead is responsible for developing and managing content for the Marigold website and social media platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency. This role includes planning and producing blog posts, videos, and timelapse footage to engage the public and stakeholders. The Lead will coordinate stakeholder meetings, develop and maintain construction signage, manage the Construction Tool Kit, and oversee photography and video production. Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Main Responsibilities

Digital media responsibilities

• Developing content for the Marigold website

• Updating website content as construction updates are made available to public

• Ensuring all content on website are accurate

• Frequent website reviews to check for broken links, formatting, and other inconsistencies

• Planning and writing blog posts for the project

• Using blog posts to share as content on social media platforms

• Sharing progress photos and videos on social media

• Planning and developing video material to be shared on social media platforms

• Coordinate social media post requests from subcontractors with City of Edmonton for approval

• Developing content for submission to community newsletters

• Monitor social media platforms

Administrative responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the stakeholder relations management software

• Act as replacement in the absence of communications team members to facilitate meetings with business stakeholders

• Assist in creation of presentations for community leagues and other internal presentations

• Attend community events and support team as necessary

Communications & Stakeholder Relations Responsibilities

• Stakeholder Meetings

o Plan, facilitate, and follow up on action items from stakeholder meetings. o Invite the relevant technical personnel to meetings to address stakeholder concerns

• Construction Signage and Hoarding/Fencing Requirements

o Develop a signage and hoarding plan to design, construct, install, maintain, and update construction signage in collaboration with City of Edmonton o Request quotes from vendors and set up relationship to print and produce scrim as required o Work with business stakeholder to ensure their needs are met when determining location and design of signage o Perform routine check-up and update any signage that is vandalized, damaged, or missing o Distribute “open for business” and wayfinding signage to business stakeholders as requested o Coordinate the designing, printing, and installation of decals on machinery & equipment

• Construction Tool-Kit

o Update and maintain the Construction Tool Kit available to all business stakeholders to easily access project resources and information o Maintain webpage on the website to house the construction tool kit

• Timelapse videos

o Work with vendor to order timelapse camera units and coordinate installation on site o Ensure location of timelapse cameras capture construction site o Work with vendor to download all content from cameras o Create timelapse video and share on social media platforms and website

• Progress Photos

o Photographic documentation of project activities, progress, and milestones to be captured by professional photographer o Coordinate with professional photographer by providing shot list after identifying all current construction works to be captured o Obtain photo release for all individuals in photo and video files o Archive and share all progress photos on social media and with City of Edmonton

• Video Production

o Annual construction season look-ahead and wrap-up videos to be scripted, planned and produced o Coordinate with professional videographer to plan, film, edit, and create videos to be circulated on social media and website o Videos are displayed at public events, citizen information sessions, etc.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or related discipline.

• Previous proven track record of successful community engagement.

• Superior communication skills across all platforms, software, and media. Excellent verbal, written and electronic communications ability and follow-up skills.

• Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions.
