Summary

Are you an experienced Quality Control professional with high attention to detail? Are you looking to join a company where you can make a positive contribution and are a valued member of a team?

We are now hiring for a Quality Control Technologist to join our team! Based out of Edmonton, AB, this position requires travel to various jobsites to ensure the high quality work our customers are accustomed to continue to be achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control and manage contract specifications on small to multimillion dollar projects while maintaining high and consistent accuracy

  • Test road construction materials such as asphalt concrete pavement and granular base course

  • Provide guidance to technologists working with you on crushing and paving projects

  • Ensure you are in compliance with testing standards

  • Provide technical advice during bidding. i.e. asphalt contents, gradation splits and suitability of aggregates

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license

  • Prior experience working within a paving company is a definite asset

  • Minimum 3 years of construction related experience in the Quality Control field

Working Conditions

• Out of town travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories as required and may consist of remote locations, accommodations and Live Out Allowance may be applicable.

• Willing to work overtime, as required

• Use of personal protection equipment is required.

• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.

• Must comply with all company policies.

• Must be able to work respecting safety policies and procedures.

• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.

• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
