Underwriting Operational Transformation Lead, US Middle Market

Zurich is hiring an Underwriting Operational Transformation Lead, US Middle Market to work a flexible hybrid schedule out of one of our offices in Zurich North America .

The Underwriting Operational Transformation Lead takes a holistic approach to identifying business improvement opportunities, develops solutions, manages initiatives, and identifies the resources and various disciplines needed to execute change. Provides methodologies and tools to sponsors and team members to support initiatives and institutionalize a culture that embraces change. Creates timelines, agendas, goals and metrics/measurements.

As the Underwriting Solutions Lead your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing projects across the underwriting life cycle.

  • Designs, facilitates and/or participates in cross-functional projects that promote organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and profitability.

  • Ensures appropriate change management practices are effectively utilized throughout the lifecycle to improve execution and delivery of results.

  • Facilitates the strategic and/or tactical business planning process, and provides methodologies and tools to sponsors & teams to drive initiatives to intended results

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and institutionalization of best practices around execution and change management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting areaOR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting areaAND

  • Experience in Organizational Effectiveness or Change Management

  • Experience in the application of existing and/or change management methodologies and tools

  • Project management experience

PreferredQualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance industry with subject matter expertise in Underwriting and Property / Casualty lines

  • Experience driving technology changes within the Salesforce and Guidewire Policy Center platforms

  • Demonstrated track record of facilitating business growth and efficiency through operational transformation

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $113,100.00 - $185,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
