Excet, a Precise Systems Company seeks a Chemist with at least 2 years of experience in a chemical research laboratory environment. This position involves various skillsets related to pipetting liquids, weighing samples or chemicals with a precision balance, and corresponding standard chemical calculations. In addition to supporting sample preparation activities and working in a chemical fume hood with environmental samples for chemical analysis, the successful applicant will possess a demonstrated strong work ethic and attention to detail for documenting all laboratory activities in lab notebooks for record keeping.

Duties:

• Perform liquid pipetting in a chemical fume hood with engineering controls

• Support sample preparation activities of varied sample types for chemical analyses

• Support routine laboratory safety/regulatory activities following both written and verbal direction

• Keep detailed records of laboratory operations

• Ability to enter the chemical Personnel Reliability Program (cPRP) and perform operations with regulated hazardous materials

  Required Education:

• H.S. Diploma or Associate’s Degree in an applicable science field, with at least 2 years of chemical laboratory experience

  Required Experience:

• Ability to assist in varied chemical sample preparations

• Experience working in chemical fume hoods and associated laboratory environments

• Document in laboratory notebooks and standard operating procedures

• Experience in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Ability to interact as part of a dynamic team environment

• Effective time management skills; self-starter; attention to detail

  Desired Experience:

• Ability to assist other team sample preparations, as necessary

• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn

  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
