As the Distribution Center (DC) Safety Manager,you will be responsible for all aspects of the safety program and is responsible for the implementation of and adherence to the Burlington Stores, Inc. Safety and Health policies for all departments and all distribution center associates. You’ll be a key player in our supply chain operation, ensuring all DC operations run smoothly so we can ensure merchandise is being received, processed, stored, packed and shipped properly to help us achieve our mission to get the right products to the right stores at the right time!

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational and occupational conditions. Investigate and review safety violations, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses and accidents with supervisors and distribution center management.

  • Supervise the safety program which includes but not limited to Emergency Preparedness, Lockout, Confined Space, Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment and Fall Protection.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.

  • Manage OSHA inspections and ensure procedures are properly followed.

  • Conduct hazard assessments. Recommend, develop and conduct safety training and programs that will have a direct impact on increased reporting of leading indicators and a decrease in the accident frequency rate.

  • Conduct safety orientation for all new hires as required.

Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule; including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as required. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move boxes weighing 40 lbs. or more and the ability to stand for extended periods of time. Candidates must have basic computer proficiency.
