Burlington EHS Manager - Distribution in Edgewater Park, New Jersey

We are seeking a dedicated EHS Manager to join our team and lead the charge in establishing and maintaining the highest standards of safety excellence at our new 1 million sq. ft. distribution center in Swedesboro, NJ. A Day in the Life:

  • Survey environmental, operational, and occupational conditions to identify hazards; Investigate safety violations, unsafe acts, conditions, near misses, and accidents in collaboration with supervisors and management.

  • Oversee safety programs including Emergency Preparedness, Lockout, Confined Space, Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, and Fall Protection.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State safety regulations, including managing OSHA inspections.

  • Conduct hazard assessments and develop safety training programs; Conduct safety orientation for new hires.

  • Lead and participate in Safety Committee activities.

  • Conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis; Develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Conduct safety compliance audits and implement corrective procedures ;Enforce safety policies through inspections and coaching of managers, supervisors, and associates.

  • Supervise and maintain the Powered Industrial Truck program, including operator training.

You’ll Come With:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or similar discipline preferred

  • 5+ years related work experience or training with primary duties in safety and compliance

  • Safety certifications (CSP, BCSP, ASSP, CHSO) highly desired

  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make sound decisions based on logical reasoning.

  • Proficiency in organizing tasks, prioritizing responsibilities, and managing time effectively.

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in safety assessments, reports, and compliance measures.

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines consistently, particularly in relation to reporting requirements and safety initiatives.

  • Clear and effective communication skills for conveying safety protocols, training materials, and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and senior leaders.

  • Capability to influence peers and senior management to adopt safety protocols and prioritize compliance measures.

  • Proactive and self-driven with the ability to work independently and take initiative in addressing safety concerns and implementing improvements.

  • Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and work a flexible schedule as needed to ensure safety objectives are met.

  • Competence in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite products for documentation, reporting, and data analysis related to safety management.
