Description POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees all phases of supply chain and provides leadership to create a performance driven culture and foster continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applying cross-functional "voice of customer" input, develop efficient and cost effective global short- and long-term sourcing strategies. Align and integrate material management, inventory and reporting strategies with key business objectives, driving results to profit plan targets. Develop and execute corporate and strategic plans to meet established goals, including part/material price reductions, supply base optimization, supplier and part certification, increased inventory turns, on-time delivery performance, and assured compliance to trade agreements. Establish facility inventory targets and oversee records, tracking of materials, changing business activity, quality of materials and stocking levels. Coordinate planning and procurement activity to maximize inventory velocity. Effectively utilizing and leading supplier quality engineers, ensure only the most capable and qualified suppliers are selected and utilized, with their performance monitored and managed for improvement. Manage and maintain Supplier Corrective Action (SCAR) process by working with suppliers to resolve defective material issues, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions. As required, lead cross-functional teams to coordinate the activities of inventory control, scheduling, expediting and customer service to ensure best techniques, systems and procedures are being used to meet commitments for deliveries to customers. Directly interface with customers, when necessary, and proactively manage suppliers to avoid delivery and quality issues. Assure company compliance to trade agreements by ensuring accurate records specific to purchased part/material country of origin are maintained. Ensure that opportunities for improved freight, logistics and, as applies, tariff management, are exploited. Maintain all records associated with technical and commercial compliance for purchased products, e.g. RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, Conflict Minerals. Ensure supply chain compliance to all requirements of IATF16949. Foster creativity and innovation within the supply chain team. Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned employees to produce a high-performing supply chain organization. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet organizational needs, and implements plans to satisfy those requirements. COMPETENCIES: Computer skills with a high degree of proficiency: SAP - Business Enterprise System MS Office Experience with, and a solid understanding and working knowledge of, IT systems, in relation to supply chain dependencies. Advanced knowledge of quality system protocols such as IATF16949, ISO 9001, ISO 13845, AS9001 or other, with IATF16949 preferred. Hands-on experience with MRP, supply/demand systems, inventory classification and order/release policies with a working knowledge of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, proven in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the auto/heavy truck industry. Experience with the 8D problem solving discipline preferred. A proven track record of strategic sourcing, cost savings, inventory turns improvement, and implementation of advanced purchasing/planning approaches (including JIT, Kanban, Vendor Managed Inventory and Lean Manufacturing). A level of financial acumen which supports both capital and operational budgeting, material standards management and the ability to make decisions which maximize supply chain financial and operational results. Effective communication and team leadership skills are essential. Ability to drive results by developing and empowering teams and unifying remote global locations. Strong leadership sk lls with experience in developing and maintaining key supplier relationships with demonstrated competence in leveraging relationships to generate large-scale cost savings, through the implementation of well-defined and executed programs, within a global business. Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality. The ability to effectively delegate, while maintaining an effective level of personal involvement in projects and problem-solving efforts, is essential. Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions. Ability to learn new duties and adjust to new situations encountered on the job within a reasonable amount of time. Ability to learn new software packages as necessary. Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization (both inside and outside the company). REQUIREMENTS: B.S. in Supply Chain Management or equivalent; MBA preferred. ISM/APICS certification strongly preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience with 5 years of proven results leading global sourcing efforts. Significant project management experience managing global projects. Domestic and international travel required.
