JOB SUMMARY Assist with the production of parts made of assorted materials using laser cutting machines from blueprints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements and qualifications listed below are representative of the essential duties, knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Determine proper arrangement of orders according to production schedules and work orders. Read, interpret, and understand work orders, drawings, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, dimensions, and tolerances. Review all nests for sheet utilization and accuracy prior to running machine. Verify parts are set to the correct revision level, downloading from the T drive as necessary. Ensure lasers are loaded with correct material. Set up CNC programs according to work order specifications. Perform CNC programming operations. Verify orders are accurately and efficiently produced by the machines. Unload laser and check for quality of all parts produced. Coordinate distribution of finished work orders to subsequent departments. Complete order request forms for needed inventory. Report levels of in-stock materials weekly. Identify needed maintenance of machines and ensure that parts and lasers are ordered and replaced. Complete daily and monthly crane inspections and complete checklists for verification. Performs card shots, tape shots, etc. to trouble shoot performance issues. Follow good housekeeping practices. Identify and resolve basic quality issues. Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required. Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area. Perform any other duties as assigned.
