Job Description
We are seeking skilled Field and Shop Welders with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, laying out, assembling, and welding according to shop drawings and specifications, with a focus on Miscellaneous Metals Layout, fitting, and welding. Experience with MIG welding and working with components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions is required. Knowledge of tools such as ironworkers, saws, and plasma tables is essential. The role includes working at heights, on scissor lifts, and in tight spaces. Reliable transportation is necessary for travel to project sites.
Responsibilities
Fabricate, layout, assemble, and weld according to shop drawings and specifications.
Perform miscellaneous metals layout, fitting, and welding.
Execute MIG welding in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Utilize tools and equipment such as ironworkers, saws, and plasma tables.
Work at heights, on scissor lifts, and in tight spaces.
Assist with installations once projects are welded and fabricated.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience in welding and fabricating.
Proficiency in MIG welding, preferably Pulse MIG, on structural steel or miscellaneous metals.
Experience in thin gauge metal fabrication and welding.
Strong blueprint skills with the ability to fabricate, layout, fit, and weld with minimal guidance.
Stick welding expertise in flat and vertical positions.
Knowledge of tools and equipment relevant to the role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
TIG welding experience is preferred.
Direct experience with miscellaneous metals is highly preferred.
Flexibility to work on job sites, primarily same-day travel.
Ability to work in a small shop environment.

Work Environment
Work in a small shop with about a dozen employees, typical of a weld/fab shop. The environment is loud and dirty due to grinding and welded metal, with machinery running at all times. Safety is a priority, with guards on machines and all welding gear required. The owner is often present, fostering a hands-on and collaborative atmosphere. Travel is minimal, typically only a few weeks per year, with travel time paid at a straight time wage.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
