Position Summary
The Aging and Neuroepidemiology group at Michigan State University invites applications for a postdoc Research Associate position to work on multiple projects under the supervision of Dr. Honglei Chen. Dr. Chen’s research aims to dissect the natural history and etiology of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s and dementia) and related prodromal symptoms such as olfactory impairment and sleep disturbances. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on data from several large epidemiological studies (e.g., ARIC, Health ABC, Sister Study, and Agricultural Health Study) and gain experience in study design, data collection, analyses, and publication. The position is for a minimum term of one year with the expectation of renewal.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field
Minimum Requirements
Terminal degree in Epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field
Strong epidemiological and statistical skills
Proficiency in statistical analytic software, especially SAS & R.
Excellent writing and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Relevant publication records
Experience working with large datasets
Statistical analytic skills to account for selection bias
Good understanding of causal inference
Knowledge about pesticides and other farming exposures.
