Chief Communications Officer The Chief Communications Officer at Thomson Reuters leads a dynamic global communications team, focused on crafting and promoting the company's business narrative and strengthening its customer-centric approach. The role involves developing comprehensive communications strategies, leading a high performing and skilled team, and fostering the company's reputation through internal and external channels. This executive will lead media relations and communications related to employee engagement, executive messaging, crisis management, earnings and regulatory requirements, digital platforms, and thought leadership initiatives. A key goal is to unify the company's messaging across all platforms and audiences, while promoting the brand and supporting business objectives. The position is ideally based in one of our Toronto, Minneapolis, Dallas, New York, or London office locations. About the Role In this opportunity as Chief Communications Officer, you will be: Crafting and implementing a global, forward-thinking communications strategy aligned with business goals and brand enhancement. Leading communication strategyrelated to our product roadmap and launches including AI solutions, translating complex technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences, including customers, partners, colleagues and analysts. Collaborate with executives and subject matter experts to lead the team as they develop and promote industry-relevant content, whitepapers, and research reports. Keeping abreast of emerging technology trends, market developments, and competitive landscape in the content-driven technology/AI industry. Use insights and data to adapt and refine communication strategies to maintain our competitive edge. Collaborating with Business Units to drive pipeline, customer acquisition, cross-selling, pricing optimization, and retention. Providing strategic advice to leadership on reputation, market intelligence, and industry feedback. Acting as the primary spokesperson and advisor on reputation management. Leading a high-performing global communications team and nurturing top-tier media and industry relationships. Creating crisis management communications frameworks and delivering strategic counsel and training to internal leaders. Working with the business and HR to drive internal communications that connect employees to the company's mission and values. Collaborating with key partners such as Marketing, Government Affairs, Investor Relations as well as other enterprise functions for cohesive communication efforts. Continually improving the effectiveness and productivity of communications including simplifying the colleague and people manager experience across the organization and leveraging innovative technology, tools and methods. Building relationships with influencers to enhance the company's reputation. About You You're a fit for the role of Chief Communications Officer if your background includes: Tech native communications leader with direct experience serving as an adviser to senior leaders and leading a global team of communications professionals. Significant communications leadership experience within a public company, preferably in tech, AI, SaaS and/or media. Proficient in all aspects of internal and external communications, especially with digital and social media. Track record of driving transformation in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. Skilled in managing ambiguity and advocating change effectively. Proven ability to build, develop, inspire and motivate teams. Understanding of market dynamics and their impact on business. Ability to turn corporate strategies into actionable plans. Team collaboration and problem-solving abilities. Clear, articulate communicator. Energetic, engaging, with a global perspective.
