Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Dyersburg, Tennessee
Job Description
You will apply your mechanical mindset to solve problems with minimal guidance and understand process flow. Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, power transmission, and simple electrical systems such as three-phase motors, power transmissions, VFDs, photoeyes, and proximity switches is essential. Your role will also involve preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime, installation and fabrication of equipment as needed, and upkeep of building and grounds. High safety standards are crucial, including enforcing safety policies, ensuring proper PPE use, and following lock-out/tag-out procedures. You will ensure equipment is performing properly and provide high-quality craftsmanship. Additionally, you will document all activity during your shift using CMMS.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance to prevent downtime.
Install and fabricate equipment as needed.
Maintain building and grounds.
Enforce safety policies and ensure proper PPE use.
Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Ensure high-quality work and craftsmanship.
Maintain a clean work area.
Document activities during shifts using CMMS.
Essential Skills
Mechanical mindset and ability to solve problems with little guidance.
Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, power transmission, and electrical systems.
Experience with packaging machinery, palletizers, depalletizers, and warehouse machinery.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Basic math and writing skills.
Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
Compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a packaging or FDA-regulated environment with high-speed equipment.
Minimum high school education or equivalent.
Ability to work in varying conditions (hot, humid, cold).
Ability to stand, squat, kneel, or walk for extended periods.
Self-starter and dependable.

Work Environment
The team environment is smaller, with around 110 employees across shifts. The dress code includes provided T-shirts, work pants or jeans, steel toe boots, hair nets, and beard nets. The filling and batching location is temperature-controlled, while the packaging and warehouse areas are not. You will spend time in both locations, and while the maintenance office is temperature-controlled, you won't spend most of your time there.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.60 - $27.60/hr.
