Wieland Small Tube Products is hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for driving the continuous improvement program at the Duncansville, PA facility by adding lean production methodology to the existing quality-minded and service-minded culture. This will be accomplished by spreading enthusiasm for process improvements throughout the organization in partnership with the plant's leadership team. The CI Manager will utilize coaching, training, and influencing skills to develop and deploy CI programs throughout the organization, drive performance, and achieve sustainable results across key SQDC & People metrics. This role is located in Duncansville, PA and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations will be required (15-20% travel). 

Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement Manager Responsibilities: Train, coach, and facilitate CI concepts and principles across all levels of the organization: Act as the skilled leader to facilitate thoughtful and effective lean activities such as value stream mapping, kaizen events, SMED events, and more. Teach the next generation of leaders in these lean principles, tools, and methodologies in order to expand the impact throughout the organization. Conduct all of this in a manner that creates a contagious environment that attracts others at all levels to want to be part of this continuous improvement. With CI expertise as the foundation, be a thought partner, leader, and driver of improvement for the plant Superintendent and department supervisors to develop transformation plans based on value stream thinking and elimination of waste across the processes. Facilitate projects and support the department supervisors in the development and implementation of CI programs and shopfloor management based on tools like 6S, MDI, SQDC, Visual Management, and Kaizen Events. Be an active participant in MDI meetings at appropriate levels. Coach teams in identifying problems, prioritization, root cause analysis, developing effective countermeasures, and sustaining solutions. Partner in "my safety, our commitment" by applying safety guidelines/processes and driving the organization to utilize CI thinking to identify sustainable solutions to problems or challenges within the interest of safety being our core value. Provide CI training and coaching to salaried and hourly employees on CI concepts, principles, and tools such as Lean, Practical Problem Solving, MDI Boards, Visual Management, 6S, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, and other tools based on business needs. Drive and support our digitalization initiatives. Actively identify barriers to CI Program success and develop strategies to overcome these and gain alignment. Work with department supervisors to effectively measure and document the impact of process improvements on business results. Continuous Improvement Manager Qualifications: The candidate should be self-motivated, driven, and be able to spread enthusiasm for improvement initiatives. Leadership, nfluence, listening, communication, and the ability to teach problem-solving skills to all levels in the plant are essential. Excellent interpersonal, written, visualization, verbal communication, and organization skills. Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations regarding project results. High energy, data driven, and results oriented. Proven ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams and implement improvements within an established time and sustain process improvements. Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or an equivalent level of degree. 5 + years' experience in project management, facilitating continuous improvement using lean tools and methodology and driving cultural transformations in a manufacturing environment. Lean Certification required, which includes both education and the hands-on ability to lead teams and implement improvements. Experience in transforming manual business processes with digital tools and systems. The role includes some travels to join corporate CI events. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus.
