The purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership and support to Shift Technician group in addition to leading planned and routine maintenance and contributing to continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor shift performance and help set technical priorities and provide technical support.

  • Act as first point of technical escalation for day to day issues.

  • Coordinate and support PM execution and improvements.

  • Lead Quality non-conformance investigations out of hours.

  • Assist with delivery and sign off on training for new Shift Technicians and provide ongoing support for their development.

  • Drive best practices with Shift Technician team.

  • Proactively work with Operations on identifying and progressing improvement activities.

  • Deputise as needed for Senior Operations and Maintenance Engineer at production tier meetings.

  • Work with suppliers on repairs and small orders.

  • Work with Senior Operations and Maintenance Engineer on breakdown analyses to help drive PM improvements.

  • Planned and reactive maintenance - Continuously improve the production operations. This includes: Specifically fine-tuning production equipment to increase output; Reducing downtime and reducing waste; Maintain production lines at optimal performance & working to the highest engineering standards.

  • Fully participate in company wide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilising appropriate quality tools as applicable.

  • Maintain highest standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults.

Educational Requirements:

  • Third Level Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Systems or the National Craft Certificate together with additional specialised training and experience

  • Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • The ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

  • Relevant PC skills
