Position Summary The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: Project planning and design for public works-related projects, including urban streets, highways, multi-modal and trail design Preparation of project plans and corridor modeling using CADD including plan layouts, alignments and profiles, corridor models, utilities, grading plans Provide design calculations and determination of pay quantities and takeoffs Interact with clients, public, and agencies as required Collaborate with project engineers / managers in a team oriented and supportive environment May lead construction administration and oversight of inspection tasks in the field Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience working as an engineering technician Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field Demonstrated ability to develop and produce civil engineering drawings in CADD including experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Bentley (Geopak or OpenRoads Designer) Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative group Strong communication skills; able to be concise and communicate effectively Preferred Qualifications Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external disciplines Proven ability to read, interpret, analyze and communicate construction plans, construction contract terms and provision Ability to provide design drawings with limited direction from lead engineer Possess MnDOT construction inspection certifications Salary Range This position's anticipated base salary range is $62,000- $81,000 annually (This position is eligible for yearend & profit-sharing bonuses, as well as overtime pay for all hours that exceed 40 in a work week) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
