Our Technical Product Owner is responsible for maximizing product value by defining tech product goals, tech product roadmap, and managing backlog, while working with OPEN Tech and our Business stakeholders.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Product Management: o Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain the product roadmap for outlining the development timeline and major milestones.o Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the team is working on features that deliver the most value.o Work with tech teams, business users, and business partners to understand requirements.o Lead SCRUM agile ceremonies for the team (story and feature acceptance, sprint planning, progress tracking, sprint retrospective)

  2. Technical Expertise: o Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to inform product development.o Understand complex technical issues and facilitate problem-solving discussions.o Ensure the product adheres to technical, security, and regulatory standards.3. Data-Driven Decision Making:o Use data and analytics to inform product decisions and measure success.o Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the product.

  3. Stakeholder Engagement: o Act as a liaison between the Open Technology team and business stakeholders for your tech products.o Gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders to inform product decisions.o Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders at regular intervals.

  4. Agile and Process Improvement: o Champion Agile methodologies and continuous improvement within the tech product team.o Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.o Monitor and report on product performance, using data to drive decisions.

  5. Risk Management and Quality Assurance: o Identify and mitigate risks throughout the product development process.o Ensure quality assurance processes are integrated into product development.o Oversee the resolution of technical and customer-facing issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

• Extensive experience in product development.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management tools.

• Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.

• Experience and understanding of software development lifecycle and technologies.
