The Role
WTW is currently in search of a Senior Portfolio Underwriter who will be responsible for overseeing the Asgard Commercial and Asgard Private Car portfolio, reporting to and collaborating closely with the Head of Asgard. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of strategic initiatives and business solutions. They should possess a keen commercial acumen, a comprehensive understanding of the products, adept negotiation skills, and the capability to cultivate enduring relationships with brokers and insurers.
Offer specialised technical underwriting expertise and guidance.
Address a variety of inquiries and referrals within specified authority limits.
Support the implementation of technical training programs and be part of the mentoring activities.
Play a key role in enhancing technical underwriting standards, controls, practices, and procedures.
Manage the control and upkeep of underwriting guidelines and processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address key risks.
Oversee the implementation of portfolio changes.
The Requirements
CIP as minimum requirement.
All Inclusive experience in underwriting, with a focus on Motor Insurance, yet within General Commercial Insurance, casualty, Liability.
Proven track record of successful portfolio management and underwriting profitability.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
