Job Description

The Business Risk Professional, as part of the Payment Services Chief Risk Office (‘PS CRO’), will partner with the Merchant Payment Services (‘MPS’) business line to implement, maintain, review and oversee an effective risk management framework, that meets key regulatory requirements. Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing risk assessments to identify and document risks and related controls in place to manage and mitigate those risks;

  • Evaluating business line solutions and initiatives with a view to ensuring their accuracy and completion from a compliance perspective;

  • Providing project support from an advisory, analytic perspective on significant initiatives impacting business line strategy;

  • Compiling and providing reporting to management and operating committees;

  • Identifying and communicating regulatory requirements and risks with an impact on the MPS business line;

  • Providing oversight and monitoring of operational processes supporting compliance with key payments, conduct and privacy-related requirements (e.g., PSD2, Consumer Duty and GDPR);

  • Providing subject matter expertise on regulatory change initiatives impacting the MPS business line, including monitoring and implementation of related KPIs and controls.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience;

  • Five to seven years of experience in financial services risk management, or a related area;

  • Professional qualifications in risk and compliance (e.g., the Professional Diploma in Compliance, provided by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland).

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong understanding of the MPS’ business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls;

  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory and legal requirements impacting on the MPS business line’s operations;

  • Good understanding and appreciation of MPS’ key risk management programs (including but not limited to CMRA, BCI, PRISM, TPRM and Issues Management);

  • Well-developed analytical skills;

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong process facilitation and project management skills;

  • Good presentation skills with ability to present to senior management and operating committees;

  • Ability to build relationships across different stakeholder groups, including the business line, PS CRO, and second line of defence partners.
