Amazon Finance Manager in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We are currently looking for a highly analytical and forward-thinking Finance Manager to join our AEE (Amazon Export and Expansion) Global Store Finance team as a business partner for our Global Store in MENA (and others in future). The role will be based in Dubai. The role is broad in scope and will require an individual who is motivated to make an impact on strategic decisions for both long term and short term goal. This role contributes to all controllership functions including financial reporting, planning, control and analysis to service our business customers. This role requires a self-starter with business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, a track record of influencing business partners with data-driven decision making, and the ability to move fast. Communication and collaboration are key, as the individual must interact and partner with numerous functions and teams within Amazon including, Marketing, Prime, Global Forward Deployment, Delivery Experience, Global Mile, Customer Service, Accounting, Tax and all other supporting teams.

Key job responsibilities

Own end to end P/L management and build financial projections for innovative growth models

Drive investment strategy discussion via insightful and relevant analysis

Partner with Senior leadership to evaluate the financial impact of decisions

Partner with various business and tech teams to become a subject matter expert on systems and outcomes

Drive continual standardization and streamlining of reporting, planning and forecasting processes

Root cause analysis and uncover core issues using data, then assisting to develop the improvement plans and create new measures

Be a steward for maximizing long term free cash flow of investments

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
